A Different

Every decision we've made — how we work, how we charge, how we collaborate — comes back to a single belief. Exceptional care requires intention. This page explains exactly how we put that into practice.

Kind of Practice

How We Work

01

Entirely Online

Expert care delivered from wherever you feel most at ease. No commutes, no waiting rooms — just a secure, HIPAA-compliant video session from the comfort of your own space.

02

Built-In Collaboration

Every clinician at Diffabilities has protected, dedicated time to collaborate with colleagues — building unified plans of care that make every session better.

03

Strengths-Based Care

We start with what you can do and build upward — never around what's missing. Every plan begins with your strengths, your goals, and your terms.

04

Private Pay

Freedom from insurance constraints means your clinician is free to focus on one thing — what's actually best for you. No arbitrary limits, no prescribed approaches.

We see things differently too.

At Diffabilities, we don't begin by asking what's wrong. We begin by asking what's strong. Neurodiversity-affirming care means we see neurological differences as natural human variations — not problems to be fixed. Every plan of care is built around your strengths, your goals, and your terms.

Our clinicians across every discipline recognize and support gestalt language processors and gestalt cognitive thinkers — meeting every person where they are, through approaches like Natural Language Acquisition that honor how they actually learn and communicate. You won't spend time here explaining or defending who you are.

We start here

With what you’re already capable of. Gestalt processors, analytic thinkers, and everyone in between.

We celebrate

The full range of human thinking, learning, and communicating- ADHD. dyslexia, gestalt language processing, and beyond.

We build upwards

Plans shaped around your strengths, your pace, and your terms.

Your Questions, Answered

  • At Diffabilities, we currently offer speech-language pathology, physical therapy, feeding therapy, and literacy services — all delivered entirely online by expert clinicians.

Our speech-language pathology services address communication, language, voice, fluency, and social pragmatics across the lifespan. Feeding therapy supports both children and adults navigating complex feeding and swallowing challenges — including picky eating, food aversions, and dysphagia. Our literacy services address reading, writing, and language-based learning differences for both children and adults. Physical therapy focuses on gross motor development, strength, mobility, and movement confidence.

Occupational therapy and mental health therapy are coming soon — both are part of our growing collective and will be available in the near future. If either of these is a priority for your family, we encourage you to reach out — we'd love to stay connected as we grow.

  • Yes — both. We serve clients across the lifespan, from young children navigating early development to adults seeking support for communication, movement, and beyond. Our clinicians are experienced working with both populations and tailor their approach accordingly.

  • Neurodiversity-affirming care starts from a simple but powerful belief — neurological differences are natural human variations, not deficits to be corrected. At Diffabilities, we don't begin by asking what's wrong. We begin by asking what's strong.

Every plan of care at Diffabilities is built on a strengths-based foundation. That means we identify what each person does well, what lights them up, and what they're already capable of — and we build upward from there. Goals are never about making someone "normal." They're about helping each person communicate more effectively, move more confidently, and thrive on their own terms.

In practice, this shapes everything — the language we use in sessions, the goals we set, the way we measure progress, and the way we talk about difference itself. We believe the word "different" is not a limitation. At Diffabilities, it never has been.

  • Research consistently supports telehealth as equally effective for a wide range of speech, physical, and mental health services. Beyond effectiveness, many clients find telehealth offers meaningful advantages — sessions happen in familiar environments, there's no commute or waiting room, and the consistency of setting can actually be beneficial for many neurodivergent individuals. We conduct all sessions online via a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.

  • A device with a camera and microphone — a laptop, tablet, or smartphone all work well. A stable internet connection and a quiet, private space where you or your child feel comfortable. That's it. We'll handle the rest.

  • We currently serve clients in New Jersey, Florida, Massachusetts, and Connecticut via telehealth. We are actively working to expand to additional states. If you're not in one of our currently licensed states, we'd love for you to join our waitlist — we'll reach out as soon as we're able to serve you.

  • Not at all. Many of our clients work with a single clinician. But at Diffabilities, every clinician benefits from regular, structured collaboration with colleagues across disciplines — which means the care you receive, even from one clinician, is informed by a team. Our interdisciplinary model isn't about how many appointments you have. It's about the standard of practice behind every one of them.

  • Choosing to operate outside of insurance wasn't a financial decision — it was a clinical one. Insurance models dictate how often you're seen, for how long, and sometimes even which approaches a clinician can use. They create documentation burdens that take time away from preparation and collaboration. By operating as a private pay practice, our clinicians have the freedom to practice the way they were trained to — with the time, autonomy, and focus your care deserves.

  • Sessions at Diffabilities are priced at a flat rate of $250 per hour, across all disciplines. This means speech-language pathology, physical therapy, feeding therapy, and all other services are priced equally — because we believe every clinician's expertise deserves equal respect.

We offer flexible session lengths to suit your needs and schedule:

    30 minutes — $125 45 minutes — $187.50 60 minutes — $250

All sessions are conducted entirely online. We do not bill insurance directly, but we can provide a superbill upon request, which some clients use to seek partial reimbursement from their insurance provider depending on their out-of-network benefits.

  • A superbill is an itemized receipt that includes the clinical codes needed for you to submit a claim to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We cannot guarantee reimbursement — this depends entirely on your specific plan and benefits. We recommend calling your insurance provider before starting services to ask about your out-of-network coverage for the relevant service codes. We're happy to provide the necessary documentation to support your claim.

  • Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form or schedule a call—we’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.
